50. English grammar exercise (keep) 09-11-2021 POSITIVE

 keepkeptkept - zatrzymać.


Present continues.


He's keeping something interesting inside his pocket. (active voice)

Something interesting is being kept inside his pocket. (passive voice)


Present simple.


He always keeps a bottle of whisky near himself. (active voice)

A bottle of whisky is always kept near. (passive voice)


Past simple.


He kept all injuries inside his heart, but now he's dead. (active voice)

All injuries were kept inside his heart. (passive voice)


Future simple.


He'll keep the news for himself. (active voice)

The news will be kept. (passive voice)


First conditional
(if + present simple + future simple).

If he keeps her photo, he won't forget about her.


Second conditional (If I were)
(if + past simple + would).

If he kept a good beer, he would never drink it.


Present perfect.


He has kept us out of war. (active voice)

We have been kept out of war. (passive voice)


Past continues
(was/were + present participle +ing).


His child was keeping his teddy bear near himself last night. (active voice)

Teddy bear was being kept near his child. (passive voice)


Past continues (2)
(past continues + when + past simple)


His child was keeping his teddy bear near himself when his child was very young.


Past continues (3)
(past continues + while + past continues)


His child was keeping his teddy bear near himself while the child was sleeping alone in the dark last week.
