53. English grammar exercise (lie) 12-11-2021 POSITIVE

 lielaylain - leżeć, kłamać.

Present continues.


They're lying on the sofa. (active voice)

Sofa is being lain. (passive voice)


Present simple.


They always lie on their beds. (active voice)

Their beds are always lain. (passive voice)


Past simple.


They lay on their bed yesterday. (active voice)

Their bed was lain yesterday. (passive voice)


Future simple.


They'll lie on the grass. (active voice)

The grass will be lain. (passive voice)


First conditional
(if + present simple + future simple).

If they children start lying on their beds earlier today than yesterday, they will also start geting up earlyier tomorrow.


Second conditional (If I were)
(if + past simple + would).

If they lay on their beds all day, their English would be better tomorrow than now.

Present perfect.


They have lain on their sofas many times this year. (active voice)

Their sofas have been lain  many times this year. (passive voice)


Past continues
(was/were + present participle +ing).


They were lying at the police station last time. (active voice)

Lie was been told at the police station last time.

Lying was been at the police station last time. (passive voice)


Past continues (2)
(past continues + when + past simple)


They were lying at the police station when they were under stress last time. 


Past continues (3)
(past continues + while + past continues)

They were lying at the police station while a police officer was asking them about murder.
